The Weekly Wonk asked Andrew Revkin, Steve LeVine, Sharon Burke, Russell Gold and Dan Sarewitz for their opinions about the impact of the new carbon emission rules by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

I agree with Russell Gold and Dan Sarewitz. For a substantial and timely shift we need cheaper and better fuel sources. Innovation is key to develop adequate energy technologies. Innovation must be driven and supported by the government.
Unfortunately, for the time being there are no cheaper and better energies available than fossil fuels.
